The chakra work ashtray was one of the first vintage pieces I picked up in Las Vegas when I decided to start bringing pieces of my travels back to remix them into dope art. It started as just a vintage clear ashtray with a slight iridescent sheen. I had this laying around for like 6 months before I brought home the colorful quartz to add to it. I found the quartz on a hot Summer day in LA at the Melrose Trading Post. If you have never stopped by Melrose Trading Post, you should add that to your list of things to do while in LA. It's a dope outdoor market full of unique vendors. Not all of the pieces came from the same vendor, and my original plan was to stand these upright in the tray, but much like chakra work, it's rare everything lines up perfectly. lol I love how this piece turned out despite the deviation from the plan...and this piece, much like life, just goes to show you, it always turns out better when you go with the flow.
